A persistent audio player bar that stays at the bottom of the page while visitors scroll. Great for long articles where readers want to listen while they keep reading or browsing. Pro and Agency plans.
Turn it on
- Go to Text to Speech → Player.
- In Placement, pick Sticky footer.
- Save.
The sticky bar now shows at the bottom of every post that has audio. The inline player above the content is automatically hidden to avoid duplicates.
Controls shown
The sticky bar includes:
- Play / pause
- Seek bar (linear or waveform, your choice)
- Current time and duration
- Playback speed
- Volume
- Download
- Loop
- Close (collapses the bar for this session)
Background opacity
Control how transparent the bar is:
- Go to Text to Speech → Player → Sticky footer background opacity.
- Slide from 0% (fully transparent) to 100% (fully opaque).
- Save.
A setting around 85-90% lets some page content show through without making the bar hard to read.
Mobile behavior
On screens under 480px wide:
- The bar stays at the bottom
- Secondary controls (loop, information) collapse into a menu
- Tap the bar expands the full controls
Free plan fallback
If you pick sticky footer placement but your plan does not support it (free plan or you downgraded), the plugin automatically falls back to After content placement so visitors still see a player.
Known theme quirks
Some themes (notably ones with their own footer overlays or cookie banners) can conflict with the sticky bar. If you notice overlap:
- Adjust the Z-index in Custom CSS
- Add padding to your theme's body to account for the bar height
- Reach out to support with your theme name
