WooCommerce integration

3 min read

Generate audio for your WooCommerce product descriptions. Shoppers can listen to product details while browsing. Great for accessibility, podcasts of your catalog, or keeping visitors on-site longer.

Turn on products

  1. Go to Text to Speech → Content.
  2. Under Post types to generate audio for, enable Products.
  3. Save.

From now on, products appear in your Products list with a TTS column, just like regular posts.

Which parts of a product get narrated

By default, TTSWP narrates:

  • The product title
  • The long description (the main product content area)

It does not narrate by default:

  • The short description (product summary above the price)
  • Product attributes (color, size, etc.)
  • Custom fields
  • Reviews

Include the short description

To include the short description in the audio:

  1. Go to Text to Speech → Content → WooCommerce.
  2. Enable Include short description.

Player placement on product pages

Product pages have their own layout. The player uses your chosen placement from Text to Speech → Player. For most themes:

  • After title works well (just below the product title, above price)
  • After content puts the player at the bottom of the long description

Some themes override the product template. If the player does not appear where expected, try the sticky footer option (PRO) or use a shortcode.

Bulk-generate audio for all products (PRO)

Pro and Agency plans can generate audio for your entire product catalog in one action:

  1. Go to Products → All Products.
  2. Check the box at the top to select all products.
  3. Click Bulk actions → Generate audio.
  4. Click Apply.

The plugin processes products in the background. You can keep working while it runs. A progress notice shows at the top of the screen.

See Bulk audio generation.

Variable products

For variable products, TTSWP uses the main product description. Individual variations do not get separate audio (this is usually what you want).

Excluded products

To skip audio on a specific product:

  1. Open the product for edit.
  2. Find the TTS audio panel in the sidebar.
  3. Check Skip audio for this product.
