What happens when I run out of monthly credits?
You have three options. Buy a top-up credit pack from the plugin admin or your billing dashboard - top-ups never expire and kick in automatically when monthly credits hit zero. Connect your own ElevenLabs API key (free on every plan) and your ElevenLabs account takes over. Or wait for your next monthly reset on your billing date. Existing audio keeps playing during the gap.
Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and your unused credits transfer to the new tier. Downgrades take effect on your next billing date, so you keep the higher tier until that day. Cancellations follow the same rule, you stay on your current plan through the end of the period and then drop to Free. Manage everything from your billing dashboard.
Do unused credits roll over to the next month?
Monthly plan credits do not roll over. They reset on your billing date, so generate audio before the cycle ends. Top-up credit packs work differently. Top-ups never expire and never reset, even if you cancel your plan. Welcome credits on the Free plan also never expire. Use top-ups for any output that exceeds your monthly allowance.
Is there a refund policy?
Top-up credit packs are refundable within 14 days if zero credits from the pack have been consumed. Subscriptions are not refundable, but you can cancel at any time and your plan continues through the end of the current billing period before dropping to Free. Email support if your situation needs a closer look.
Does BYOK work on the Free plan?
Yes. Bring Your Own Key is free on every plan, including Free. Connect your ElevenLabs API key from your account settings, and your ElevenLabs credits stack on top of your TTSWP credits. Free ElevenLabs accounts include 10,000 characters per month at no charge. Generation falls back to your ElevenLabs key only after TTSWP monthly and top-up credits are empty.
How does Pro Lite differ from regular Pro?
Pro Lite at $29 per year unlocks every Pro feature including Speech-to-Text, voice cloning, sticky footer, waveform, and SSML. It includes zero TTSWP credits, so all generation runs through your own ElevenLabs key. Audio stores locally on your WordPress server, not on TTSWP-managed S3. Annual billing only. Pick this if you already pay ElevenLabs and want premium features without TTSWP credits.
How are credits counted?
One credit equals one character of input text. A 5,000 word post with average 5-character words and spaces costs roughly 30,000 credits to generate. Bulk generation, retries, and re-generation each consume credits. Previewing voices on the Voices page does not cost credits. Re-using already-generated audio (a visitor pressing Play) costs nothing.
What payment methods do you accept?
Stripe handles all payments, so we accept every card and method Stripe supports in your country. This includes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, and SEPA Direct Debit in Europe. Invoicing for Agency plans is available on request. Prices on this page are USD and exclude VAT.
