The Overview page

4 min read

Your plugin home screen. The Overview page is the first thing you see when you open Text to Speech. It shows your connection status, credit balance, audio engagement stats, and the most-used settings. Everything on this page is read-only or a one-click toggle.

When your site is not connected

Before you connect, the Overview page becomes your onboarding screen. A purple Connect Card sits at the top with a Get Started button. Below that, three step cards walk you through connecting, picking a voice, and generating your first audio.

When you connect, these onboarding elements are replaced by the live dashboard.

When your site is connected

Getting Started cards

Three action cards appear right after you connect:

  1. Choose language and voice - links to the Voices page
  2. Customize the audio player - links to the Player page
  3. Generate your first audio - links to your posts list

Click the close button (X) on the top right to dismiss these cards once you know your way around. Dismissal is per-user, so each admin on your site can hide them separately.

See Getting Started cards for details.

Quick Stats card

The Quick Stats card shows four headline numbers:

  • Credits remaining - how many characters you can still generate this billing period
  • Current plan - Free, Pro, or Agency
  • Play clicks (30d) - how many times your audio has been played in the last 30 days
  • Avg. listening time - how long the average visitor listens

Below the four tiles, the card shows your ElevenLabs connection status. It has three possible states:

  1. Hint! Connect your ElevenLabs API key (when no key is connected): a purple callout promoting the bonus credits from your own ElevenLabs account
  2. ElevenLabs connected (when a valid key is in place): a green pill with your tier and remaining EL credits
  3. ElevenLabs key invalid (when your key is rejected): a red pill prompting you to update it on app.ttswp.com

Quick Settings card

Seven one-click toggles for the most-used features:

  • Enable AudioObject Schema
  • Media Library integration
  • Automatically generate audio on publish
  • WPML integration
  • Weglot integration
  • Cloud audio storage (S3 + CloudFront)
  • Enable statistics

Flip a toggle, then click Save changes in the topbar. See Quick Settings explained for what each toggle does.
